How to Apply to Universities in Philippines (2027): Step by Step

At the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City, foreign undergraduates are charged PHP 1,500 per unit plus an educational development fee of USD 300 a semester. Foreign students aged 18 and over taking degree courses need a 9(f) student visa, for which the school must be accredited by the Bureau of Immigration.

Degree study at the University of the Philippines Diliman

  1. Choose your route. Undergraduates apply through the UP College Admission Test or, with SAT, GCE or IB results, directly to the registrar by 15 April; graduate applicants apply to their college by 15 February or 30 July.
  2. Pay the application fee, for example USD 30 for non-resident foreign undergraduates applying directly.
  3. Meet the English requirement, TOEFL iBT 61 or IELTS 5.5 for graduate study.
  4. Enrol and pay tuition plus the foreign student educational development fee.
  5. Obtain a 9(f) student visa through the school, which must be accredited by the Bureau of Immigration.
