Bangladesh runs a mixed system of public universities that admit through their own written tests or a shared cluster test, and private universities that admit by GPA and run three semester intakes a year. Public tuition is nominal and set by the government; private universities bill by the credit hour. A foreign student needs an admission offer and a Student visa from a Bangladeshi diplomatic mission before travelling.
