Cost of Studying in Bangladesh (2027) for International Students

Public university costs are set by the government and are low by international standards: an application fee per admission test, and an annual tuition and session fee that for most public universities and subjects does not run high. Individual public universities publish their own current fee schedule in each year's admission circular. This dataset leaves a public university's tuition_intl fields blank unless that university states a separate figure for international students, because none of the public universities checked for this dataset published one on an accessible page.

Private universities bill by the credit hour rather than a flat annual fee. Two examples confirmed directly from university fee pages: North South University charges 8,000 taka per credit for every undergraduate programme, effective Spring 2026, plus a 25,000 taka admission fee, 10,000 taka refundable caution money, and smaller recurring semester charges such as computer lab, student activity, library and science lab fees of a few thousand taka each per semester. Independent University, Bangladesh lists a tuition fee of 4,500 taka per credit. A bachelor's degree normally runs to more than one hundred credits, so the total cost varies by how many credits a programme requires and any waiver a student qualifies for.

Dhaka and other Bangladeshi cities are widely described as inexpensive compared with study destinations in Europe, North America or Australia, but that general reputation is not the same as a verified figure and should not be read as one.
