About Chittagong University
Chittagong University is one of the top-ranked universities, surrounded by natural beauties, in Bangladesh. Chittagong Public University was established on November 10, 1981, on 2110 acres of hilly land in the Fatehpur Union of Hathazari Upazila of Chittagong.
Professor Dr. Shireen Akhter is the Vice-Chancellor, of the University of Chittagong. Presently 27550 students are studying at the university.
Location and Area
Chittagong University is famous for its environment (22.4699°N 91.7904°E). Chittagong University is located on beautiful hilly land in Mauja Fatehpur under Hathazari Upazila, Chittagong, and 22 Km/s north of Chittagong city. The university covers 2110 acres of hilly areas.
Faculties & Department
Chittagong University is one of the largest universities in terms of faculties and disciplines. Gradually the university raised its faculties and disciplines since its inception. At present, CU contains 10 faculties and, in total, 54 departments/Institutes. Also, there are 6 affiliated institutes,
9 affiliated colleges and 5 research centers.

Mission & Vission
University of Chittagong (C.U.) is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning, and research to ensure creative endeavors for reaching a global height in higher education. Creative Endeavor for reaching a global height in higher education is the mission of the C.U., and with this view, the university has been running its functions with professionals.
Admission
Students in and out of the country get admitted here based on admission tests. Every year, the C.U. authority takes the admission test and selects the eligible candidates based on their merit lists. Lacs of students sit for the Chittagong University admission test to get admitted here and get a higher and quality education.
The university offers B.A., BEd, BSc, B.B.A., L.L.B., B.S.S., M.B.B.S. B.U.M.S., B.P.E. under graduation and L.L.M., MA, M.Phil., MSc, MS, M.B.A., Ph.D., MEd, M.D., M.P.E. M.P.H., M.S.S. graduation degrees.
Library
The library is the prime essential part of institutions to increase the study growth and the successful implementation of academic programs. There is a vast library of Chittagong University that has a huge collection of books initiated in November 1966.
This library contains more than 3,50,000 books, 40,000 e-Books, and journals for different Faculties, Centers, and Institutes. Daily, thousands of students come to this library and enhance their knowledge with these books.
Research & Museum
The experts of Chittagong University have already expressed many researchers that already responded outside and in the country. Some researches are now under study. To play this research, there are Media Lab and experimental labs in this university. Here is some information as of 2017.

The authority of Chittagong University has taken initiatives to set up the C.U. museum, and finally, in 1973 C.U. museum was established. The museum in the C.U. contains archeology, sculpture, folklore, and contemporary arts. On the first floor, the museum contains

Residential halls & Campus Life
For the students, Chittagong University has already set up 12 residential halls. Among them, eight are male, and the remaining are female.
The CU campus life is full of recreational and alive. C.U. offers a wide range of cultural activities, a good variety of central sports and hall sports, a vibrant, colorful traditional annual sports program.
Natural beauties surround the campus. The morning starts with the sweet charm of birds. The rows of trees, hilly roads, and waterfalls make the campus vivid and like an open zoo.
