UZH bills CHF 720 base tuition a semester to every student, on top of which foreign students, those who did not obtain their entry qualification in Switzerland or Liechtenstein, pay a surcharge: CHF 500 a semester at bachelor's level (CHF 1,279 total once the CHF 59 mandatory semester contributions covering library, sport and student services are added) or CHF 100 a semester at master's and doctoral level (CHF 879 total). The application fee is CHF 100 generally, or CHF 150 for an applicant with a foreign qualification, a rate that has applied since 1 January 2025.
