University of Zagreb Admission Requirements 2027

The University of Zagreb, founded in 1669, is Croatia's largest university and teaches Medicine, Dental Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in English alongside English-taught bachelor's and master's programmes. For 2026-27 Medicine costs EUR 12,000 a year and other English programmes from EUR 1,115 to EUR 7,500, with each faculty running its own admission, fees and deadlines. The School of Medicine charges a EUR 300 application fee.

English test waiver

The University of Zagreb sets English requirements per faculty and programme. The School of Medicine's English programme accepts TOEFL iBT 60 (paper 500, computer 170), IELTS 6 or the Duolingo English Test at 105, as well as Cambridge and Oxford exams and C1 certificates from language schools, and waives the test for native speakers and graduates of English-speaking secondary schools or colleges. Other programmes in the 2026-27 English brochure differ: Petroleum and Geoenergy asks for IELTS 6.5 in all parts, TOEFL iBT 80 or B2; the TIMREX geology master's asks for B2, TOEFL iBT 88 or IELTS 6.5; Chemical and Environmental Technology, Biomedical Mathematics and RePIC ask for B2; and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing asks only for proof of English. No single score applies across the university, so none is recorded.
