University of Wisconsin-Madison Admission 2027: Deadlines, Requirements, Fees for International Students

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is the flagship campus of the Universities of Wisconsin system, based in Madison. There is no separate application process for international undergraduates: they follow the same first year timeline and the same academic review as domestic applicants, applying through the Common Application or the Universities of Wisconsin application.

Madison offers an early action deadline of November 1, which gives full consideration for admission and for merit scholarships, with a decision by the end of January. Applicants who miss that date can still apply by the January 15 regular deadline and hear back by the end of March. International applicants may need to submit additional documentation related to their national curriculum alongside the standard secondary school transcript.

Applicants whose native language is not English, or whose secondary schooling was not taught in English throughout, must submit a score from TOEFL, IELTS or the Duolingo English Test, sent electronically and no more than two years old. Madison advises applicants to send test scores early, since electronic delivery from the testing service can add several weeks to the time it takes for an application file to be considered complete.
