Admission at a glance

The University of Luxembourg has one intake a year for bachelor's and master's programmes, in September, and applications for 2027-28 open on 1 February 2027. Deadlines vary by programme and by whether the applicant is from the EU, and the difference is large: in the 2026-27 cycle the Master in Data Science, like most programmes, accepted EU applicants from 1 February to 15 July 2026 but non-EU applicants only until 24 March 2026, so a non-EU applicant has roughly seven weeks from the platform opening. Some part-time programmes accept non-EU applicants only if they already live in Luxembourg on a residence permit. Applicants upload documents to the admissions platform and pay a EUR 100 administrative fee for each application by bank card; fee waivers are not possible, the fee is not refundable, and EUR 100 is deducted from the first semester's fees for admitted candidates who enrol. The university charges no separate tuition to international students, and most programmes cost EUR 400 a semester. Language levels are set per programme on the CEFR scale, B2 English being common for English-taught masters, and Duolingo is not accepted. Admitted non-EU students must obtain a temporary authorisation to stay before entering Luxembourg.
