Requirements

Bachelor

A Grade 12 Certificate (or equivalent) with at least five O level credits, which must include English Language and Mathematics; specific programmes state additional subject requirements (for example the Bachelor of Science in Public Health requires English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science, and one Science subject). Applicants with alternative qualifications not specified may be considered for exemptions on a case by case basis, applicable only in the first and second year of study. All results must be verified by ZAQA.

Master

A relevant bachelor's degree or recognized professional qualification (the prospectus gives ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or ACA as examples for some programmes). Some master's programme listings in the prospectus also restate the Grade 12 Certificate with English Language and Mathematics credits as an entry requirement alongside the bachelor's degree.

Documents

Certified academic certificates or statement of results; certified diploma certificates if applicable; an identification document (national registration card, passport, or valid ID); Grade 12 (O level) certificate and other qualifications certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

How to apply

  1. Create an account on the university's online application portal and apply.
  2. Pay the non-refundable application fee (USD 50 for foreign students) by online payment, bank deposit, Zanaco bill muster, or Airtel Money.
  3. Submit certified copies of academic certificates and identification documents; have Grade 12 and other qualifications verified by ZAQA.
  4. Receive an acceptance letter from the Academic Office once the application is processed.
  5. Non-SADC applicants apply for a Zambian entry visa in their home country before travelling; SADC applicants travel and register directly.
  6. After arrival, apply for a Zambian study permit within the 30 day grace period (first-time study permit fee K9,000), with help from the International Student Advisor if needed.
  7. Register for the semester and pay tuition and other fees.

English test waiver

The university does not publish a separate IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or Duolingo minimum for international applicants.
