University of Colombo Admission Requirements 2027

The University of Colombo, founded in 1921, teaches most degree programmes in English. Foreign undergraduates at its School of Computing pay an annual course fee of USD 6,000, and taught master's programmes at the Faculty of Graduate Studies charge foreign students course fees such as USD 2,840 for the 2026/27 Master of Gender and Women's Studies and USD 3,382 for the 2027 Master of Business Studies. Foreign applicants need TOEFL 79 or IELTS 6.5.

English test waiver

English is the medium of instruction for most degree programmes. Foreign applicants whose primary language is not English, or whose previous education was in another language, must show a minimum score of 79 on the TOEFL or 6.5 on IELTS, and submit a certified copy of the certificate if they studied in a language other than English.
