University of Cape Town Tuition Fees 2027

UCT charges tuition for each course a student takes, so fees depend on the programme. Its 2026 fees handbook gives typical first-year tuition for South African students from ZAR 46,000 for the first year of the extended BSc to ZAR 113,510 for MBChB, and international students add the relevant fees. Non-SADC international students pay course tuition, an International Term Fee and an International Administrative Fee of ZAR 5,600. The undergraduate International Term Fee for 2026 is ZAR 60,300 for students from non-SADC African countries and ZAR 80,400 for students from outside Africa; for coursework master's it is ZAR 48,200 and ZAR 64,500, and research master's and PhD students pay none. SADC students are treated like South Africans on tuition and pay a ZAR 5,600 SADC administrative fee. Postgraduate examples include ZAR 28,440 a year for a Commerce PhD and ZAR 43,350 for a master's by dissertation in engineering. For 2027 most non-SADC students make a first payment of R127,400 before registration. The application fee is R300 for applicants from outside the SADC region.
