Admission at a glance

UC Irvine admits international first-year students through the shared University of California application, filed once between 1 October and 30 November for fall entry, with the same holistic review UC Irvine applies to every first-year file regardless of where the applicant studied. International first-year applicants are those completing secondary school and a certificate of completion that would allow them to enter a university in their home country, who have not previously enrolled at a college or university after graduating high school. UC Irvine tells applicants directly that it does not partner with education agents to represent the university or manage any part of the application or enrollment process, and does not endorse third-party services that claim to speed up or guarantee admission. English proficiency is required unless exempted, at the UC systemwide minimum scores, with results due to the university by the end of January before the fall term. UC Irvine does not consider SAT or ACT scores in its admission decision. Its published nonresident fee schedule itemizes tuition, the Nonresident Supplemental Tuition and a small systemwide student association fee separately, which makes it easier to see exactly what the total is built from.
