Documents
The undergraduate and graduate admissions pages point applicants to apply online or by printed application through the Office of Admissions and Registration. For international applicants specifically, the International Students Office asks that they hold a valid passport, obtain a visitor visa from the Lebanese Embassy before travel using the university's official letter of acceptance, and apply for residency after arrival before the visitor visa expires. High school diplomas earned outside Lebanon must be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the student resides, then certified again by the Lebanese Ministry of Education after arrival. A detailed document checklist beyond these points is published in the university's downloadable Admission Guide, which this review could not retrieve in full.
How to apply
- Choose the Undergraduate or Graduate admission track and apply online or submit a printed application through the Office of Admissions and Registration.
- Undergraduate applicants sit the SAT (unless exempt) and, where required, the university's Language Aptitude Test or English Language Proficiency test; French-track applicants sit the Test de Positionnement or submit a DELF/DALF result.
- Submit secondary school records for Grades 10 and 11, plus Grade 12 results as soon as they are available and before registration.
- International applicants obtain the equivalence permission from the Lebanese Ministry of Education and a visitor visa from the Lebanese Embassy, using the university's official letter of acceptance.
- After arrival in Lebanon, apply for residency before the visitor visa expires, and complete degree-equivalency certification through the Lebanese Ministry of Education with support from the International Students Office.
English test waiver
For programmes taught in English, the minimum scores are IELTS 6, TOEFL iBT 71, TOEFL paper 527, Duolingo 110 or the university's English Placement Test (EPT) 63 for undergraduate studies, and IELTS 8, TOEFL iBT 100, TOEFL paper 600, Duolingo 140 or EPT 85 for graduate studies. Graduate applicants with TOEFL iBT 71 to 99, TOEFL paper 527 to 597 or EPT 63 to 84 are admitted conditionally and complete ENGL101 and ENGL102 in their first year. Majors taught in French require French proficiency through the Test de Positionnement or a DELF/DALF certificate.
