Requirements

Bachelor

Applicants need secondary schooling the university assesses as equivalent to New Zealand's University Entrance standard; entry to some programmes, including health sciences, also depends on specific subject results or a portfolio. Unless exempt, applicants must show English proficiency: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 overall with at least 21 in writing, or PTE Academic 50 overall with no communicative skill below 42. Some professional and health programmes set higher thresholds than this general standard.

Documents

Certified secondary school transcripts and certificates, English test results where required, the photo page of a valid passport, and, for some programmes, a personal statement, portfolio or audition recording. Offers can be issued conditionally ahead of final school results.

How to apply

  1. Check the entry requirements for the chosen programme.
  2. Apply online through the university's application system, directly or through a registered agent.
  3. Submit certified transcripts and English test evidence.
  4. Receive a conditional or unconditional Offer of Place.
  5. Accept the offer and pay the required tuition amount.
  6. Use the fee receipt to apply for a New Zealand student visa.
  7. Complete course enrolment before the semester begins.

English test waiver

Domestic applicants, citizens of Canada, Ireland, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States, and New Zealand secondary school leavers who meet University Entrance literacy requirements do not need to submit a separate English test. Test results stay valid for two years up to the start of study. Completing the university's own FCertEAP or EPUS pathway programme at grade C- or higher also satisfies the requirement.
