Requirements
Bachelor
A secondary school qualification recognised as equivalent to the Leaving Certificate, meeting the subject and grade requirements of the chosen programme.
Master
An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, normally a second class honours grade 1 or equivalent GPA; some programmes ask for a personal statement, references or relevant experience.
Documents
Academic transcripts and certificates, proof of English language proficiency, passport copy, and a personal statement or references where the programme asks for them. A EUR 70 application fee applies and covers multiple programme choices in the same intake.
How to apply
- Choose your programme and confirm entry requirements on the UCD course page.
- Apply online at ucd.ie/courses/apply from 1 October, paying the EUR 70 application fee.
- Upload transcripts, English test results and supporting documents.
- Receive a decision; most courses review applications on a rolling basis until full.
- Accept your offer, pay the deposit and apply for your study visa if you need one, ideally by 1 July.
English test waiver
Undergraduate: IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, or TOEFL iBT 90 with at least 20 in each section. Graduate: IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any strand; TOEFL iBT 90 with at least 21 in writing and 19 in the other sections. UCD also accepts Cambridge English, Duolingo, LanguageCert, Linguaskill, PTE Academic and Trinity ISE; some programmes set higher scores, and test results must be less than two years old.
