Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is a public research university based on Penang island, admitting international undergraduates through a dedicated International Channel alongside its national UPU system. Fees are billed per semester in US dollars, from about USD 1,560 a semester for arts and humanities degrees up to USD 13,750 a semester for its Doctor of Medicine.

USM bills international tuition per semester in US dollars. Most Bachelor's (Honours) programmes across the Schools of the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Communication, Management, Biological Sciences, Industrial Technology, Physics, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Computer Sciences run from about USD 1,562.50 to USD 2,500 a semester. Built environment and engineering programmes (Housing, Building and Planning; Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil and Aerospace Engineering) run higher, from about USD 1,928.50 to USD 3,125 a semester. The Doctor of Medicine (School of Medical Sciences) costs USD 13,750 a semester and the Doctor of Dental Surgery (School of Dental Sciences) costs USD 11,250 a semester. Fees exclude the separate EMGS visa and insurance costs charged to every international student.
