USI charges CHF 4,000 a semester to a student who was not resident in Switzerland or Liechtenstein at the time of their final secondary school exam, and CHF 2,000 to a student who was, the highest non-resident flat rate among the Swiss universities researched for this file. A master's application carries a separate CHF 100 registration fee, non-refundable if the applicant withdraws or is rejected, but deducted from the first semester's tuition if they enrol.
