Requirements

Bachelor

  • Applicants whose secondary schooling was completed in the EU/EEA, in a country with a bilateral agreement with Spain, or who hold an IB or EB diploma: register with UNEDasiss for an access credential.
  • Applicants from any other foreign school system: obtain homologacion of the secondary certificate from Spain's Ministry of Education first, then register with UNEDasiss.
  • Apply through UC3M's own rolling Early Admission window for international applicants, or through the shared national pre-enrolment calendar.
  • For English-taught programmes, IELTS Academic 5.5 or higher, or TOEFL iBT 72 or higher, across all four skills; native English speakers and graduates of a fully English-taught prior degree are exempt.

Master

  • A bachelor's degree from an EHEA institution, or, for a non-EHEA degree, UC3M's own verification that the prior degree is of an equivalent academic level.
  • Programme-specific academic requirements set by the individual master's degree; some programmes ask for a higher English level, such as TOEFL iBT 85 and IELTS 6.5 overall for the Master in Management.
  • For English-taught programmes generally, IELTS Academic 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 72, unless exempt as a native speaker or prior English-taught graduate.

Documents

Passport or national ID copy; the UNEDasiss/UNED access or homologation credential (bachelor applicants); academic transcripts and, where applicable, the prior degree certificate (master applicants); and an English certificate (IELTS Academic or TOEFL iBT, evaluated across all four skills) for English-taught programmes.

How to apply

  1. Confirm the correct bachelor access route (UNEDasiss only, or Ministry homologacion first), or for master's, whether the prior degree needs UC3M's equivalence check.
  2. Register with UNEDasiss (bachelor) or gather transcripts and certificates (master) well before the relevant deadline.
  3. Apply through UC3M's rolling Early Admission window for international applicants (bachelor) or the shared national calendar, or through UC3M's own master's admission process.
  4. Submit the required documents, including an English certificate for English-taught programmes.
  5. Wait for the admission result, then complete matricula (enrolment) and pay tuition within the published window.
  6. Use the acceptance and enrolment documents to apply for the Spanish national student visa.

English test waiver

UC3M's own pages set the same minimum across bachelor and master study: IELTS Academic 5.5 or higher (General Training is not accepted) and TOEFL iBT 72 or higher, evidenced across all four skills; UC3M states that a full B2 diploma is required and that a bachelor student can also demonstrate the level in the first year through a UC3M test or by passing 36 ECTS of English-taught credits. Students whose mother tongue is English, or who completed a prior degree fully in English, are exempt on providing documentation.
