Requirements

Bachelor

Applicants to SIIT's 8 undergraduate international programs must hold a high school diploma (or GED for the SPI-U route for non-Thai nationals without a Thai-recognized diploma) and submit qualifying national or standardized test scores, which vary by nationality and are listed in SIIT's 'Admission Criteria for Submission of National Test Scores' document (for example SAT, ACT, IB, GCE A-Level, or country-specific national examinations such as China's NCEE or Myanmar's MME). Non-Thai applicants under the EFS-U scholarship route must additionally hold non-Thai nationality and a clean disciplinary record. All new undergraduate students must submit a qualifying English score for exemption from course EL105 or take the course in their first year.

Master

Applicants to SIIT's master's programs need a bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 2.75. Applications are submitted through SIIT's own online portal with a statement of purpose, CV, official transcript, identity document (citizen ID or passport), and, if available, an English proficiency score (SIIT-EPT 65+, TOEFL IBT 32+, IELTS 4.5+, TU-GET, or TOEIC 600+ are all accepted); the English score is not mandatory at the point of application but must be submitted within the first semester of enrollment.

Documents

Undergraduate (EFS-U route): copy of passport, national or standardized test scores appropriate to the applicant's country/qualification, copy of high school transcript. Graduate (master's/doctoral): statement of purpose (at least one page), CV or resume, official or current transcript (bachelor's transcript for master's applicants, bachelor's and master's transcripts for doctoral applicants), citizen ID card or passport, certificate of English proficiency test if available, research paper or publications if any, and a recent 1x1.5 inch photograph.

How to apply

1. Choose an admission route on the SIIT admissions website (for undergraduate: Inter Portfolio, Inter Program, EFS-U for foreign nationals with a standard diploma, or SPI-U for foreign nationals without one; for graduate: Self Support/Others, or a scholarship program such as EFS/ETS).
2. Register for an account on the relevant SIIT online application portal (admissions.siit.tu.ac.th for undergraduate, or graduateadmission.siit.tu.ac.th for graduate).
3. Complete the online application form, select the specific program, and attach the required documents (transcripts, test scores, passport, statement of purpose or CV as applicable) before the stated deadline.
4. Wait for the announcement of applicants eligible for interview or examination, where applicable, and complete any required interview.
5. Check the announcement of admitted students on the SIIT admissions website and complete online registration and payment within the stated registration period, followed by registration as a Thammasat University student.

English test waiver

SIIT's undergraduate international programs are taught fully in English. All new undergraduate students (from student ID group 69 onward, i.e. those entering from academic year 2026) must enroll in course EL105 English Communication Skills unless they submit one of a list of standardized English scores to the SIIT English Training Unit (ETU) for an exemption. The published exemption thresholds are IELTS Total Score of at least 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each skill, or TOEFL CBT/IBT 80 to 120, or TOEFL PBT/TU-GET PBT 550 to 1000, among other accepted tests (TGAT, A-Level English, GCE A-Level, IBDP, NCEE, FCE Cambridge, CEFR/PTE Academic). This is a placement/exemption threshold, not a hard bar to admission: an applicant who does not submit or meet it is simply scheduled into EL105 rather than being refused a place. Separately, for SIIT graduate (master's and doctoral) admission, the online application asks applicants to attach a certificate of English proficiency such as SIIT-EPT 65+, TOEFL IBT 32+ (Home Edition 32+, ITP 433+), Institutional TOEFL 433+, IELTS 4.5+, TU-GET (PBT 400+ or CBT 32+), or TOEIC 600+, but the same page states this score is optional at the time of application: 'you can apply for the program without submitting the English proficiency test score,' though an admitted student must submit one within the first semester of study or risk dismissal.
