Requirements

Bachelor

Academic: completion of a Vietnamese Upper Secondary School (High School) Graduation Diploma with a minimum GPA of 7.0 out of 10.0 for Grade 12 (published on the Bachelor of Business page), or an equivalent qualification assessed under RMIT's entry requirements by country. Entry is also available through the UniSTART Academic program or the Foundation Studies pathway.

English (Bachelor of Business; the same minimums are published on the Master of Business Administration page): successful completion of RMIT Vietnam English Advanced, or one of: IELTS Academic (or IELTS Academic One Skill Retake) minimum overall band 6.5 with no individual band below 6.0; TOEFL iBT score of 79 (minimum 13 Reading, 12 Listening, 18 Speaking, 21 Writing; tests taken on or after 21 January 2026 must be TOEFL iBT Australia, and results on the old 1 to 6 scale are not accepted); Pearson Test of English Academic score of 58 with no communication band below 50; or Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency minimum score of 176 with no component below 169.

Master

Academic (Master of Business Administration): for the 1.5-year advanced-standing pathway, a bachelor's degree or higher completed within the last 10 years in business or a related discipline, with a minimum GPA of 1.0 out of 4.0, a GMAT overall minimum score of 550, or completion of the RMIT Graduate Certificate in Business Administration. Applicants whose qualification is more than 10 years old, or not in business or a related discipline, need at least 2 years of full-time equivalent relevant professional work experience. A 2-year, non-advanced-standing pathway is available for a bachelor's degree in any discipline.

English (Master of Business Administration): IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0; TOEFL iBT 79 (minimum 13 Reading, 12 Listening, 18 Speaking, 21 Writing); Pearson Test of English Academic 58 with no communication band below 50; or Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 176 with no component below 169.

RMIT Vietnam publishes separate downloadable checklists linked from its how-to-apply page: an Application checklist for undergraduate programs (PDF) and an Application checklist for postgraduate programs (PDF). Applicants are told to prepare all required supporting documents before submitting the online application to avoid processing delays. International students who go on to apply for a Vietnamese student visa additionally need: their original passport, valid at least 6 months with 1 blank page for the visa stamp; a Letter of Acceptance from RMIT Vietnam; a pre-approval letter from the Vietnamese Immigration Department; and proof of payment of the visa application fees paid to Vietnamese authorities.

How to apply

1. Find a program: search RMIT Vietnam's undergraduate and postgraduate program pages and review each program's entry eligibility and fees.
2. Check eligibility: review the academic entry requirements by country and the English-language requirement published on that program's own page.
3. Prepare documents: gather supporting documents using the undergraduate or postgraduate application checklist.
4. Submit the application: register for and complete the online application form and attach the required documents.
5. Receive and accept an offer: RMIT normally advises the outcome within 10 business days; accepted applicants pay a non-refundable tuition fee deposit online.
6. Apply for a student visa: once the deposit is received, RMIT Vietnam issues a visa invitation letter, which can take up to 2 months, for use at a nominated Vietnamese embassy or consulate.
7. Meet the deadline: RMIT recommends applying 4 to 6 months before the start of the February/March, June/July, or October trimester, since competitive programs can fill before the published deadline.
8. Prepare to arrive: RMIT Vietnam's International Support team sends updates before the semester start to arrange buddies, airport pickup, and accommodation.

English test waiver

RMIT Vietnam waives the English test requirement for applicants who successfully complete RMIT Vietnam English Advanced (its own in-house program). Otherwise applicants must meet one of the published minimums: IELTS Academic (or IELTS Academic One Skill Retake) overall band 6.5 with no individual band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 79 (with minimums of 13 Reading, 12 Listening, 18 Speaking, 21 Writing; tests from 21 January 2026 onward must be TOEFL iBT Australia, and the old 1-6 scale is not accepted), Pearson Test of English Academic 58 with no communication band below 50, or Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 176 with no component below 169.
