Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) is a private university in Beppu, Oita Prefecture, built from the ground up as a bilingual, majority-international campus. All degree programmes admit through English-medium tracks alongside Japanese-medium ones, with two enrolment points a year, April and September, and around half of its students coming from outside Japan.
