International freshman applicants should submit a complete application, including all required materials, by November 1 for early action: an initial decision by January 15 and full consideration for scholarships. The university continues to accept applications on a rolling basis until April 1, but recommends applying by November 1 because qualified applicants have exceeded available space in recent admission cycles. MSU is test optional for the SAT and ACT but requires English proficiency proof from applicants whose first language is not English.

- Financial documentation, requested after admission for the I-20
How to apply
- Apply by November 1 for early action (decision by January 15, full scholarship consideration) or by April 1 for the final rolling deadline.
- Submit official transcripts and, for applicants whose first language is not English, an accepted English proficiency score (MSU's TOEFL code is 1465).
- Pay the USD 75 application fee.
- Receive an admission decision.
- If admitted, submit financial certification to receive the I-20 and apply for an F-1 student visa.
