Bachelor's degree
A-levels, the International Baccalaureate or another equivalent qualification at the level the specific course states, plus English language ability of IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each element, or higher for some Social Sciences, Humanities, and Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences courses.

UCAS application and personal statement for undergraduate courses, or Loughborough's own online application for Masters courses; academic transcripts and predicted or achieved grades; academic reference; ATAS certificate where the course requires one; English language test certificate at the required level; passport for identity and later for the Student visa.
How to apply
- Register with UCAS and choose Loughborough as one of up to five choices for undergraduate study, or apply directly online for a Masters course.
- Check the specific course's entry requirements and English language level.
- Submit the UCAS application by 18:00 UK time on 13 January 2027 for 2027 entry; submit a Masters application for September 2027 entry by 23 August 2027 as an international applicant, or by 14 December 2026 for the London campus January 2027 start.
- Receive a decision; undergraduate offers are usually conditional on final grades.
- Meet the offer conditions, including the English language requirement.
- Apply for the Student visa once the place is confirmed unconditionally.
English test waiver
Loughborough's standard university wide undergraduate requirement, confirmed directly on its own page, is IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each of reading, writing, listening and speaking, or the equivalent TOEFL iBT 88 (tests before 21 January 2026), PTE Academic 65 with no sub-test below 61, or Duolingo 120 overall with set minimum sub scores. Some courses, particularly in Social Sciences, Humanities, and Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, ask for a higher level than this standard.
