Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana, grew out of the Kumasi College of Technology, which opened officially on 22 January 1952. Provisional undergraduate tuition for international freshers in 2026/2027 ranges from USD 2,975 to USD 5,950 a year depending on the programme, before other charges. International undergraduate applicants pay a USD 100 application processing fee, and the 2026/2027 deadline was 31 August 2026.

English test waiver

KNUST sets no university-wide IELTS or TOEFL score. Undergraduate applicants from non-English speaking countries must provide a minimum of a one-year English Proficiency Certificate. Postgraduate applicants from non-Anglophone countries must hold an internationally recognised certificate of proficiency in English, such as TOEFL or IELTS, with an above average score, or attend a three-month English language course at the KNUST Department of English.
