King Saud University in Riyadh, established by royal decree in 1957, had 85,617 students in its 2025 annual report. Applicants from abroad apply for its external scholarship through the Study in Saudi platform: holders receive a monthly stipend of SAR 1,000 in science fields, SAR 850 in humanities or SAR 900 at postgraduate level, university housing and health care, and must be 17 to 25 with an SAT score of at least 1010.
