Admission at a glance
Inha University is a private research university in Incheon founded in 1954, admitting international undergraduates whose parents both hold non-Korean nationality into a wide range of majors across Engineering, Natural Science, Business Administration, Social Science, Humanities, Nursing, Education and Arts and Sports, almost all taught in Korean (Korean Track). Two programmes within the School of Global Convergence Studies, International Business & Trade (IBT) and Integrated System Engineering (ISE), are taught entirely in English and form a separate English Track with its own language requirement; a third SGCS programme, Korean Language & Culture (KLC), follows the Korean Track instead.
For its most recent published cycle, Fall 2026, Inha ran online applications from 15 April to 13 May 2026, with documents due by 28 May 2026, results announced 30 June 2026, and tuition payment due 1 to 13 July 2026; the Fall 2027 cycle's exact dates had not been published at the time of this review. Korean Track applicants need TOPIK level 3 or above (or an equivalent Korean-language institute level); English Track applicants need IELTS 5.5 or above, or TOEFL iBT 71 (4 or above on the redesigned scale for tests from 21 January 2026), with native English speakers exempt. Nursing, the 5-year Architecture major and Physical Education recruit only in the Spring semester.
Tuition runs from about KRW 5,850,000 a semester in Arts and Natural Science to KRW 6,305,000 in Engineering, and the application fee is KRW 105,000 (USD 100), refundable only in narrow circumstances such as an Inha administrative error, a natural disaster, or the applicant's hospitalisation or death. Inha runs a detailed Global 1 Scholarship scheme for freshmen tied to TOPIK level, Korean Language Center completion, Gaokao score (Chinese applicants) or an English test score, offering from a half semester's tuition up to four years of full tuition plus a stipend and dormitory place for the strongest applicants.
