Bachelor's degree

Ege University holds its own EGEYOS foreign student exam, with results also accepted by a large number of other Turkish universities; the exact current minimum passing score was not confirmed clearly enough from an official page to record here. A certified high school diploma and transcript, translated into Turkish, is required, together with an equivalency certificate for the diploma.

How to apply

1. Apply for and sit Ege University's own EGEYOS exam, or hold an accepted equivalent such as TR-YOS.
2. Gather the certified, Turkish translated diploma and transcript plus an equivalency certificate.
3. Apply through the university's own application system at ais.ege.edu.tr once EGEYOS or another accepted result is available.
4. If admitted, register and pay tuition; the fee table could not be confirmed for this record.
5. After registering, apply for a residence permit through e-ikamet.

English test waiver

Language of instruction decides what Ege asks for. Medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, law, history, sociology and most teaching degrees are taught in Turkish; the science, nursing and psychology programmes are 30 percent English; and American Culture and Literature, English Language and Literature and English translation and interpreting are fully English. Students placed in a programme with a compulsory preparatory year are exempt if they score at least 70 out of 100 on Ege's own proficiency exam or hold a result the School of Foreign Languages accepts as equivalent, and everyone else attends the preparatory year. Separately, every international student must show Turkish at C1 level from a Turkish teaching centre at a Turkish university, the Yunus Emre Institute, or the national e-YDTS exam. A student who cannot is given one year's leave to reach C1 before starting the degree. Turkish and foreign language preparatory study together may not exceed two years, after which a student who has not reached the required level is deregistered. Graduates of Turkish high schools run by the Ministry of National Education are exempt from Turkish preparatory study.
