Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics Admission Requirements 2026

BSUIR in Minsk offers engineering, computing and information security programmes to foreign citizens in Russian and in English. For 2026-2027, English-medium full-time first degree programmes cost 5,000 US dollars a year and English-medium full-time Master's programmes cost 4,350 US dollars a year. Foreign applicants are admitted on the results of an interview, and BSUIR lists 1 October 2026 as the application deadline for first degree and Master's programmes.

Requirements

Bachelor

  • Basic education corresponding to general secondary education in Belarus.
  • Copy of the educational certificate stating all subjects studied and the marks obtained.
  • An admission interview in English for English-medium programmes, or in Russian for Russian-medium programmes. No IELTS or TOEFL certificate is required.

Master

  • A Bachelor of Science degree.
  • An admission interview in the language of instruction and in the subject area.
  • On arrival, a certificate of equivalence of the Bachelor degree to the Belarusian system, for those enrolling in a Master or PhD programme.

Documents

To apply (sent to the Admissions Office by e-mail):

  • Filled-in application form.
  • Copy of the educational certificate stating all subjects studied and the marks.
  • Copy of the birth certificate, passport or other identity document.
  • Bank statement proving financial sustainability, for nationals of African and Arabian countries.

On arrival in Belarus (originals):

  • Enrolment application.
  • Educational certificates with subjects and marks.
  • Medical certificate and HIV test certificate.
  • Copy of the birth certificate.
  • National passport with the Belarusian study visa.
  • Ten photographs, 3 x 4 cm.
  • Russian or English language certificate, if the applicant has one.
  • For Master and PhD applicants, a certificate of equivalence of the earlier degree.

All documents need a legalised translation into Russian or Belarusian, which can be made at a translation agency in Minsk.

How to apply

  1. Choose a Russian-medium or English-medium programme from the tuition table.
  2. E-mail the application form, education certificate copy and identity document copy to the Admissions Office. A reply usually comes about 3 days after all required information is received.
  3. Receive the letter of invitation if you are shortlisted. It is issued free of charge.
  4. Use the invitation to obtain a Belarusian study visa at a Belarusian embassy or consulate.
  5. On arrival, submit the original documents and take the admission interview.
  6. Sign the study contract and pay tuition, complete the medical screening, move into the dormitory, buy compulsory health insurance and register with the Minsk Migration and Citizenship Body.

English test waiver

Neither an IELTS nor a TOEFL certificate is required to enter English-medium programmes. Foreign citizens applying for an English-medium first degree pass an interview in English, and foreign citizens applying for a Master's degree pass an interview in the language of instruction and in the subject area. The interview checks the applicant's level of basic education and language skills.
