Requirements
Bachelor's degree
A recognised secondary or pre-university qualification meeting the specific programme's entry point; conditional offers are available for applicants still awaiting final exam results, confirmed once the required grades are achieved. Entry requirements are set by programme, so check the specific degree page.
English language
Most bachelor's degrees: IELTS 5.0 or PTE Academic 47. Business, finance and accounting-related degrees: IELTS 5.5 or PTE Academic 51. Students from English-speaking countries or with a prior qualification taught in English (IGCSE, A-Level, IB, American High School Diploma and similar) are exempt from the test requirement.

How to apply
- Submit the online application with academic qualifications, English test scores and the desired programme and intake; APU typically responds within two to three working days.
- Accept the offer and pay the RM 3,600 Pre-Arrival Application Processing Fee, which covers EMGS visa processing, APU's own application and processing charge, airport assistance and initial accommodation arrangements.
- Submit passport copies, photographs and the health declaration for the EMGS Visa Approval Letter (eVAL) application, which EMGS processes in about two to three weeks.
- Complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) before travelling and arrive at least one week before the intake begins.
- Undergo medical screening within seven days of arrival and pay the RM 2,000 post-arrival fee, covering the medical check-up, a year of insurance, the i-Kad and the Student Pass fee.
- Enrol; APU advises applying six to eight weeks ahead of the intended intake given the three to four week visa process.
English test waiver
Business, finance and accounting-related degrees ask for a higher IELTS 5.5 or PTE 51. Students from English-speaking countries, or whose prior qualification (IGCSE, A-Level, IB, American High School Diploma and similar) was taught in English, are exempt.
