TOEFL Requirement for Hungary Universities: Minimum Score

The University of Pécs accepts TOEFL iBT at 90 on the traditional scale or 4.5 on the 1 to 6 scale introduced on 21 January 2026. It also accepts the Duolingo English Test at 115, PTE Academic at 59, Cambridge B2 First at 170, and a long list of Hungarian and European examinations at CEFR B2, including ECL, Euroexam, TELC and BME Nyelvvizsga. Its master's programmes in American Studies, English Studies and the Instruction of English as a Foreign Language require C1 rather than B2.
