How to Apply to Universities in Oman (2027): Step by Step

Oman's student visa, issued by the Royal Oman Police, is a multi-entry visa valid for a stay of one to two years and renewable while the holder continues studying, and it requires a sponsoring educational institution approved to host students from abroad. At Sultan Qaboos University, international master's students pay OMR 168 per credit hour in science colleges, and two full master's scholarships are reserved for international students.

Degree study in Oman

  1. Apply to the university (SQU postgraduate applications for the January 2027 intake ran from 15 July to 15 August 2026).
  2. The institution sponsors your student visa with its hosting approval, commercial registration and signature sheet.
  3. Provide photographs, passport copy and, for listed nationalities including Bangladesh, a medical certificate.
  4. Enter Oman within six months of the visa being issued.
  5. Obtain a resident card within 30 days of entry.
