Scholarships to Study in Malta (2027) for International Students

Malta is an English-speaking EU country whose main university, the University of Malta, charges students from outside the EU EUR 10,800 to EUR 13,400 for its 2026-27 master's programmes and EUR 26,000 a year for Medicine. Non-EU applicants who need a visa face an earlier deadline, 1 July for October 2026 entry, and must get a long-stay D visa before arriving, then a residence permit costing EUR 50. Graduates can stay nine months to look for work.

Malta offers few scholarships to international degree students. The University of Malta, with the Government of Malta, funds a small number of targeted awards: for Palestinian nationals on the MSc in Artificial Intelligence or MA in Cultural Heritage Management, paying tuition plus EUR 1,300 a month, with a 5 June 2026 deadline; one similar scholarship for a Tunisian national, with a 10 June 2026 deadline; and three online master's scholarships for nationals of small island developing states.
