NUS and NTU sit in the same city and price within a few thousand dollars of each other. NUS publishes 2026/2027 international undergraduate tuition from SGD 33,400 to 44,450 a year, and NTU from SGD 36,350 to 45,600, both including tax and both set per faculty rather than as one rate. Business is the top of the range at both. Both figures are quoted before the Ministry of Education tuition grant, which lowers the bill and carries conditions each university sets out on its own page, so the number an applicant actually pays depends on whether they take it. NTU's English bar is slightly lower: IELTS 6.0 with 6.0 in writing and speaking, or TOEFL 90 with 25 in speaking, against NUS at IELTS 6.5 and TOEFL 92. NUS also exempts applicants whose secondary education was fully in English in an approved system, which NTU does not state here. NUS dates from 1905 and NTU from 1991.
