Requirements

Bachelor

Secondary schooling equivalent to New Zealand's University Entrance standard is required. The standard English requirement is IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5; some programmes, including initial teacher education, require a higher score.

Documents

Certified secondary academic transcripts, English test results where applicable, and a copy of the applicant's passport photo page.

How to apply

  1. Check the entry and English requirements for the chosen programme.
  2. Apply online; there is no application fee.
  3. Submit certified transcripts and, if required, English test results.
  4. Receive a conditional or unconditional Offer of Place.
  5. Pay fees and use the receipt to apply for a New Zealand student visa.
  6. Enrol in courses ahead of the trimester start.

English test waiver

Applicants who do not yet meet the English requirement can still receive a conditional Offer of Place and satisfy the requirement before applying for a student visa; the university's 12-week English for Academic Purposes programme is one route to do this.
