University of Wrocław Admission Requirements 2027

The University of Wroclaw is a large public university offering bachelor's, master's and a small number of PhD programmes in English, mainly in the sciences, biotechnology and humanities. Non-EU applicants register through a dedicated international-applications portal, and tuition is billed per year in EUR, among the more expensive of the flagship universities researched for this site relative to its size.

Requirements

Bachelor

A secondary school certificate that qualifies for higher education in its country of issue.
English proficiency at CEFR B2: IELTS 5.5 (academic or general), TOEFL iBT 72 (or 4+ on the post-2026 scale), PTE Academic 59, or an accepted Cambridge, Trinity, LanguageCert or Oxford Test of English certificate.
Programme-specific requirements, particularly for Biotechnology and Medical Biotechnology, which run their own earlier admission timeline.

Master

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
The same B2 English minimum as bachelor level.
Programme-specific requirements set by the admitting faculty.

Documents

Passport copy; secondary school certificate or prior degree diploma with transcript; proof of English proficiency meeting the B2 minimum, no older than three years; and further documents requested once an offer is made, ahead of the offer-letter payment deadline and later registration week.

How to apply

Review the admission deadlines, required documents and available English-taught programmes for your chosen level.
Register at international-applications.uni.wroc.pl and pay the registration fee (EUR 23, or EUR 27 where the programme sets an examination).
Complete your personal data and select your programme.
Wait for an assessment decision, typically around two weeks after your application is complete.
Accept the offer letter and pay the first year's tuition within four weeks.
Receive the formal Admission Letter once payment is confirmed, and use it for the visa application.
Apply for the national type D student visa, then complete registration and student ID formalities after arrival.

English test waiver

Native speakers from English-speaking countries do not need a certificate. TOEFL iBT taken after 21 January 2026 is reported on a new 1-9 scale, where 4 or higher meets the requirement, replacing the previous 72-point (0-120 scale) minimum for earlier tests. TOEIC (785 Listening and Reading, 150 Speaking, 160 Writing), Cambridge B2 First and above, Trinity ISE, LanguageCert and the Oxford Test of English (111+) are also accepted; certificates cannot be older than three years and must test all four skills.
