Requirements
Bachelor
Secondary schooling equivalent to New Zealand's University Entrance standard is required. The general English requirement is IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 (minimum 19 per section under the pre-2026 format), or PTE Academic 50 with no communicative skill below 42; some departments require higher results.
Documents
Certified secondary transcripts and certificates, English test results where required, and passport identification. Evidence of prepaid tuition fees is needed to support the subsequent student visa application.

- Provide evidence of prepaid tuition fees.
- Apply for a New Zealand student visa.
- Select courses in myUC with the correct occurrence codes.
- Complete enrolment once the visa is granted.
English test waiver
UCIC pathway programmes accept a Duolingo score of 95 with no band below 80. Some departments and programmes set higher English results than the general undergraduate standard.
