University at Buffalo is the largest campus in the State University of New York (SUNY) system, located in Buffalo, New York. Requirements

Bachelor

International freshman applicants apply through ApplySUNY, the Common Application or the Coalition for College application, choosing early action (November 1), an Honors College priority date (December 15) or the regular decision completion deadline (February 1, all required materials, with continued review afterward until capacity is reached). Applicants whose native language is not English, or who completed secondary school outside an English speaking country, must submit an accepted English proficiency score.

How to apply

  1. Apply through ApplySUNY, the Common Application or the Coalition for College application by November 1 for early action or February 1 for the regular decision completion deadline, fall entry.
  2. Submit official transcripts and an English proficiency score if required.
  3. Pay the USD 50 application fee.
  4. Receive an admission decision.
  5. If admitted, submit financial certification to receive the I-20 and apply for an F-1 student visa.

English test waiver

Applicants may also meet the requirement with an SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score of 500 or higher, an ACT English and Reading score of 18 or higher, or qualifying IB, AP or British curriculum exam results.
