Admission at a glance
USIU-Africa admits undergraduates and graduates for Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. Its 2026-2027 academic calendar sets the undergraduate and MBA application deadline for Spring 2027 on 29 September 2026, for Summer 2027 on 30 March 2027, and for Fall 2027, for all majors, on 29 June 2027. The non-refundable admission application fee is KES 3,500 for undergraduates, KES 4,000 for master's applicants and KES 4,500 for doctoral applicants. Undergraduate applicants need KCSE scores of C+ and above or an equivalent qualification. International students whose studies were not in English must show proficiency with TOEFL iBT 79 or higher, IELTS 6, a grade C in the Cambridge Test of English Proficiency or a C in USIU-Africa's own English test, and students from countries where English is the official language are exempt. Tuition is charged per unit and per semester, and students from outside East Africa pay 30% above local rates for tuition and mandatory fees. In 2025-2026 a 12-unit semester in a business bachelor's degree cost KES 171,600 in tuition for non-East Africans, or KES 197,990 with fees, and a 15-unit semester in a computing degree cost KES 263,250 in tuition. The First-Time Freshman Scholarship gives 30% to local and international students with a mean grade of B or better and at least B- in English and Mathematics.
