Requirements
Bachelor
Applicants and both parents must hold foreign nationality (Taiwanese nationality with one Korean parent is not eligible), and the applicant must have graduated high school, or be expected to graduate before the semester starts; GED, home schooling and cyber schooling are not recognised as equivalent to a high school diploma. Korean Track applicants submit a TOPIK score or an approved substitute; English Track applicants (Global Economics, Global Business Administration, Biomedical Engineering) submit an official English test.
Master's and PhD
Graduate admission is organised by SKKU's individual graduate schools and departments, each publishing its own deadlines, language requirements and required documents rather than one university-wide standard.
Documents
Application form, personal statement, letter of consent, copies of the applicant's and parents' passports (or national ID), a family relationship or household registration document, language proficiency documents (Korean or English, or a Korean-language institute completion certificate), and secondary school graduation certificate and transcripts, apostilled or consular-authenticated for schools outside Korea. Chinese applicants additionally submit CHSI-verified graduation and transcript reports.
How to apply
- Choose a Korean Track major (the large majority of SKKU's departments) or, if eligible, one of the three English Track majors reserved for the March intake.
- Apply online within the published window and wire-transfer the non-refundable application fee, since payment assigns the application number that completes submission.
- Submit required documents to the Office of International Student Services (OISS) by the stated deadline; SKKU evaluates by document screening, with an interview added for some units if needed.
- Watch for the admission announcement on the SKKU Global Admissions website.
- If admitted, pay tuition by the amount and method shown on your tuition invoice, and check whether you were awarded an Admission Scholarship, since these are assigned automatically rather than through a separate application.
English test waiver
SKKU's Korean Track (most majors) needs a TOPIK score or an approved substitute, with no separate English requirement. Its English Track, limited to Global Economics, Global Business Administration and Biomedical Engineering (March intake only), needs one official English test without one published minimum for most of those majors, except Business Administration, which states TOEFL iBT 80 (or ITP 550), IELTS 6.0, TOPIK level 3, CEFR B2, CET 4, or Duolingo 110 or above.
