Queen's University, in Kingston, Ontario, is a mid-sized, research-intensive university that draws a large share of its undergraduates, including international students, through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC). Admission to most Arts and Science programs is based on the applicant's grades in required Grade 12 or equivalent subjects, while Engineering and Applied Science, Commerce at the Smith School of Business, Health Sciences and Nursing have their own, generally more competitive, entry profiles and in some cases separate application steps or supplementary information. English is the language of instruction, and applicants who have not lived in a predominantly English speaking country or studied in English full time for the three years immediately before starting at Queen's must submit a test score such as IELTS, CAEL or PTE Academic; Queen's also runs its own English language bridging pathway, QBridge, for applicants who are otherwise admissible but have not yet reached the required English level. Most first-year programs share a 1 March deadline for the Fall intake, while Commerce, Health Sciences and Nursing close a month earlier, on 1 February, reflecting their higher demand and more detailed selection process.

Requirements

Bachelor

Admission is based on Grade 12 or equivalent grades in required subjects; Engineering and Applied Science, Commerce, Health Sciences and Nursing are more competitive and, in some cases, ask for supplementary information beyond grades. There is no single published minimum average across all programs.

Graduate
