KIMEP University Admission Requirements 2027

KIMEP University in Almaty was established in 1992 by decree of the first President of Kazakhstan. Tuition for 2026-2027 is charged per credit: KZT 163,230 per credit for undergraduate programmes and KZT 235,430 per credit for most master's programmes. For Spring 2027 entry, foreign students apply from 16 October to 10 December 2026, and ten International Students Grants cover 50% of tuition for citizens of countries other than Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

English test waiver

KIMEP uses English test scores to place undergraduates rather than to reject them. To start directly at the Academic English level, an applicant needs IELTS 5.5 with at least 5.0 in each section, TOEFL iBT 51 to 66, Duolingo 95 with at least 90 in each section, PTE Academic 39, Cambridge B2 First 160 or LanguageCert Academic 60; applicants below these bands begin in the Foundation English course. LL.M applicants need IELTS 6.0 with at least 5.0 in each section, TOEFL iBT 75 or Duolingo 110. The requirement does not apply to holders of a prior degree taught in English, KIMEP graduates and double degree students.
