The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago was founded in 1888 and had 31,859 undergraduate and 5,174 master's and doctoral students in 2023. English test waiver

Undergraduate programmes at UC are taught in Spanish, and no English test is required for admission. For foreign applicants the university recommends an adequate level of Spanish, ideally equivalent to B2, and invites them to attach proof such as a DELE or SIELE exam or an institutional letter. Master's programmes set their own language rules: the translation master's asks for Cambridge Advanced English with at least 75 points or an internal exam plus Spanish at DELE C1, and several psychology master's ask for intermediate English reading comprehension shown by a test such as TOEFL, IELTS or CAE.
