Requirements

Bachelor

Admission for foreign citizens to bachelor's and internship programmes (General Medicine, Dentistry, Pediatrics, Pharmacy, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Nursing) is by interview, held individually online or offline in Kazakh, Russian or English, lasting 15 to 25 minutes. No entrance exam or UNT is required of foreign applicants. Required documents include: passport copy with a notarised translation into Kazakh or Russian, original certificate/diploma of secondary or prior education with a notarised translation, 4 photos (3x4 cm), a medical certificate (form U-075) with a fluorography image, an NEET certificate (for applicants from India), and proof of financial solvency to cover accommodation and tuition (except for ethnic Kazakhs). Applicants to an English-medium healthcare programme must additionally hold one of: IELTS Academic 5.0+, TOEFL IBT 35+, TOEFL ITP 417+, TOEIC 550+, or Duolingo English Test 80+.

Master

Admission for foreign citizens to master's programmes follows the same interview-based procedure (individual interview, 15 to 25 minutes, in Kazakh, Russian or English), assessing academic language, subject knowledge, research potential and motivation. Required documents include a passport copy with notarised translation, original diploma with notarised translation, a document of recognition (nostrification) of the foreign diploma, photos, medical certificate U-075 with fluorography, medical insurance, proof of financial solvency (except for ethnic Kazakhs), and, where applicable, a list of scientific publications.

Documents

Passport copy with notarised Kazakh or Russian translation; original education document (school certificate or prior diploma) with notarised translation; 4 to 6 photos (3x4 cm); medical certificate (form U-075) plus a fluorography image and vaccination passport; medical insurance policy; proof of financial solvency for accommodation and tuition (waived for ethnic Kazakhs); NEET certificate for applicants from India; MDCAT certificate for applicants from Pakistan; a document confirming absence of a criminal record; and, where the programme is taught in English, an English proficiency certificate (IELTS/TOEFL/TOEIC/Duolingo). Master's applicants also provide a diploma nostrification document and, where relevant, a list of academic publications.

How to apply

1. Register for an interview online at admission.amu.kz/registration.php.
2. Complete the application form for the chosen educational programme.
3. Submit the signed application with the required document set in person or by post to the university (49A Beibitshilik St, Astana) or upload the required digital copies as instructed by the admission committee.
4. Attend the interview (15 to 25 minutes, online or offline) with the foreign-admissions committee, presenting original identity documents.
5. Receive the interview result and, if successful, an official admission (invitation) letter by email.
6. Complete a psychometric test online.
7. Pay the tuition fee in KZT directly to the university's own bank account and provide the payment receipt.
8. Submit the full original document set (with notarised translations) and enrol shortly before the start of the academic period, in line with the academic calendar.

English test waiver

An English test certificate (IELTS Academic 5.0+, TOEFL IBT 35+, TOEFL ITP 417+, TOEIC 550+, or Duolingo English Test 80+) is required only from foreign applicants applying to a programme in the healthcare field taught in English. Foreign applicants who apply to a Kazakh-medium or Russian-medium programme are admitted on the basis of an interview only, with no English test certificate required.
