Requirements
Bachelor
Both the applicant and the applicant's parents must hold non-Korean nationality, and the applicant must have completed or be expected to complete high school or an equivalent qualification recognised by their home country. Korean-track applicants need TOPIK level 3 or above (or an equivalent Korean-language institute completion, or a pass on Ajou's own Korean exam); where English is accepted instead, the general standard is TOEFL iBT 71 or IELTS 5.5, rising to TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS 6.5 for transfer applicants to the International Business English Track.
Master's and PhD
Ajou's Graduate School and Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) publish their own department-level admission requirements and deadlines separate from this undergraduate guide.
Documents
Application form, secondary school transcripts and (expected) graduation certificate, proof of the applicant's and parents' nationality, and a language proficiency document (TOPIK, a Korean-language institute certificate, or an English test as applicable); exact document lists are set out in Ajou's own Korean and English admission guideline PDFs.
How to apply
- Confirm whether your intended major sits on the Korean track or, for International Business (transfer) or Global IT (Chinese transfer), the English track, and check which language requirement applies.
- Apply online within the published window and submit required documents by the same deadline.
- Pay the KRW 150,000 application fee to complete your application.
- Wait for the acceptance notice on Ajou's international admissions website.
- If admitted, pay tuition within the stated window and complete orientation and registration steps.
English test waiver
Ajou's general undergraduate international admission accepts Korean proficiency (TOPIK level 3 or above, a level 3 Korean-language-institute completion, or a pass on Ajou's own Korean placement exam) for most majors; where a certified English score is required instead, Ajou states TOEFL iBT 71 or IELTS 5.5 or above, valid until the application deadline. Business Administration's English Track, open to transfer applicants only, sets a higher bar of TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS 6.5 or above.
