Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP) 2026

The Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP) is run by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' development cooperation arm, funding two-year master's degrees and one one-year diploma course at Thai universities. Courses are grouped under five themes tied to the Sustainable Development Goals: Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, Agriculture and Food Security, Climate Resilience, Health and Wellness, Trade and Economy, and Inclusive Development, with 22 specific programmes offered in the 2026 round. Candidates do not apply to TICA directly. Each eligible country or territory nominates its own candidates, up to three per programme, through its National Focal Point for International Development Cooperation, usually the foreign ministry or another central government agency; preference goes to candidates already working in government or in a field related to the course. Applicants need a bachelor's degree, relevant professional experience, a good command of English, and must be no older than 45. The nominated documents go to Thailand's embassy or consulate in the candidate's country, which forwards them to TICA. Funded costs include a living allowance of THB 7,000 a month, an accommodation allowance of THB 7,000 or 9,000 a month depending on the university, a one-time settlement allowance of THB 6,000 on arrival, a books allowance of THB 10,000 a year for up to four semesters, a thesis allowance of up to THB 20,000 for compulsory fieldwork plus THB 12,000 for thesis printing or THB 8,000 for an independent-study report, tuition fees reimbursed directly by TICA, and accident and hospitalisation insurance. Candidates from countries on the OECD's Official Development Assistance recipient list also receive round-trip economy airfare, an airport transfer and the Thai non-immigrant visa fee; candidates from countries outside that list receive tuition cover only. Awardees may not bring family members. The TIPP 2026 application round required documents to reach the Thai embassy or consulate by 23 February 2026.
