Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program 2026: Deadline, Eligibility, Benefits

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship, run by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs through Campus France, funds master's and PhD study in France for foreign students who are not French nationals (including dual French nationals). Applicants must normally be under 29 for a master's or under 35 for a PhD. Unlike most scholarships, students cannot apply to Eiffel directly: only the French higher education institution that wants to enrol the student can submit a nomination to Campus France, so an applicant's first step is to ask their chosen French institution whether it plans to nominate them for the programme, well before that institution's own internal deadline, which usually falls earlier than the official Campus France date. The scholarship funds a monthly living allowance, set each year in the Eiffel programme rules, together with international and domestic travel, health and other insurance, and in many cases help with housing and cultural activities, for a period of 12 to 36 months starting 1 September of the award year. The 2026 session opened 1 October 2025 and closed 8 January 2026, with results announced from 30 March 2026; the equivalent dates for the following session are usually published a few months in advance on the Campus France site.
