How to Apply to Universities in Sri Lanka (2027): Step by Step

Foreign university students in Sri Lanka hold a residence visa in the educational category, valid for one year or the period recommended by the relevant ministry or institution and renewable annually, with a recommendation from the Ministry of Higher Education. The residence visa fee for students is USD 200 a year. At the University of Colombo, foreign undergraduates at the School of Computing pay USD 6,000 a year, and applicants need TOEFL 79 or IELTS 6.5.

Degree study in Sri Lanka

  1. Apply to the university (foreign undergraduates through the University Grants Commission, USD 100 processing fee).
