How to Apply to Universities in Pakistan (2027): Step by Step

Foreign students in Pakistan receive a study visa, issued or extended for two years after security clearance within 30 days, on an admission letter and no-objection certificates from the relevant Pakistani ministry and the student's own country. Visa fees are charged in US dollars on a reciprocal basis. At LUMS in Lahore, undergraduate tuition for 2026-27 is PKR 45,800 per credit hour and international applicants pay a USD 200 application fee.

Degree study in Pakistan

  1. Apply to the university in its annual Fall cycle; at LUMS, undergraduate applications closed on 27 January in 2026 and graduate applications on 14 April.
  2. Receive the admission (bonafide) letter.
  3. Obtain no-objection certificates from the concerned Pakistani ministry and from your own country.
  4. Apply for the study visa; it is issued for two years after security clearance, due within 30 days.
  5. Pay the visa fee in US dollars at the reciprocal rate for your nationality.
