All international students in Namibia, from SADC and non-SADC countries, must hold an approved study permit and visa before entering the country to study. At the University of Namibia, students can apply for the permit during registration, paying a NAD 80 handling fee and a NAD 2,200 permit fee to the Ministry of Home Affairs once it is approved. UNAM's undergraduate applications for 2027 close on 30 September 2026.
University example, UNAM 2026. Registration payment NAD 12,125 (SADC) or NAD 20,775 (non-SADC), including a tuition deposit and a NAD 3,500 international student levy; non-SADC class fees are double the Namibian rate.
