Canada does not run one large national scholarship open to all international students. Support instead comes mainly from individual universities, through entrance scholarships based on academic record and awards restricted to specific countries, faculties or programs, from the federal Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship for doctoral study, and from a smaller number of provincial and departmental awards. Applicants should check each university's own scholarships page at the same time as its admission requirements, since many entrance awards are granted automatically from the admission application with no separate form.
